Full Version: mp3ext shell extension and foobar tagging problem

Whenever I save tags from the properties dialog in fb2k, I lose the bitrate-linked icons which mp3ext ( http://www.mutschler.de/mp3ext/ ) provides, and the mp3ext tab in the file properties dialog in explorer doesn't show the tags.

If I save the tag again using a different program (e.g. tag&rename) the bitrare icons come back, and mp3ext can read the tags again.

Is this fixable? What's going on?

This is a wild guess because I don't use mp3ext. Maybe mp3ext doesn't support id3v2.4 or doesn't support it well and foobar write tag in id3v2.4. If so you have to ask the developers of mp3ext to include support for id3v2.4 (a 5 years old standard) correctly or wait for Peter to impliment id3v2.3 (this will take long and maybe also not be implimented at all as stated in many threads).

That sounds likely, mp3ext hasn't been in development for years.
Not so hot! :-( I guess i'm gonna have to choose between bitrate icons and convenience for the time being.
Thanks anyway.
