When I used masstagger to tag the tracknumbers from filenames, then reloaded the music in iTunes, I see all of these square characters at the end of the data. Is there something I can do to prevent this from occurring?

I hate to sound like a nag, but this question has been bought up so many times. Even just a general search would show countless threads, the problems is that iTunes doesn't use actual tag standards. And yes the problem is on iTunes end. And no the Foobar devs are not planning on fixing that isn't broken (from Foobar's end), they do not plan on writing up some hack to make it work in iTunes. And lastly yes Foobar .9* uses ID3v2.4 tags.

Solution 1: Try using an external program like MP3TAG to convert ID3v2.4 tags to ID3v2.3.
Solution 2: Don't use iTunes -> But what about my iPod? sad.gif -> foo_dop component

appreciate the info; apologies for being redundant. I was not successful finding any related topics through the search field. I'll try converting the tags to v2.3.

This bug also currently only exists on Win32 iTunes. The OS X iTunes has been fixed (in this regard).
