I guess this asked a lot, but I failed to get a definitive answer using the search function.

The PX-230 is the best DAE-Reader according to c't magazine, but fails to read into leadout, so it's out. So what is the next best drive to get 1:1 copies? Some of the Plex DVD recorders? The Plex Premium 2 seems disappointing. LG?

What is the best (writing quality) zero-offset writer? LG?

Ah, well, and than the discussed-to-death question about ripping burst-test-copy or c2-test-copy. Non of the recent threads have come to a definitive answer for my understanding. So I use c2-test-copy and continue polishing the disc until all red lights are gone? =)

What is the most practical process to polish 1000+ discs? =)

Thanks.

You forgot one: noC2-test-copy.

I know for NEC's ND-3500AG this is better than C2-test-copy.

I've been waiting for a 5.25" bay device that appears to be a CD/DVD drive, but is actually a cleaner/polisher. Just add one of those to a duplication robot and voila!

Sadly, noone has done it yet...but someone should!

My current production line consists of a couple of Discwasher hydrobath units with custom fluid (isopropanol, water, + fotoflo) and a few of the discman-looking cleaner/polisher devices (under two brand names: aleratec, and xinix, same unit though). I tend to put problematic discs aside and clean/polish them a batch at a time.

Oh, and a lightbulb to verify the scratches are on the read side, not the label side.
