I am planing to get an IDE to USB adapter for connecting various IDE devices (DVD writers and HDDs) to my PC over USB. Looking for some cheap solutions, I found an adapter made by EasyDrive which allows you to connect devices from 1.8" to 5.25" via USB 2.0. The price is 10 €. Here is a picture of it: http://www.easydrive.de/ide2usb/ide2usb3.jpg
The producer states that the adapter uses the GL811E-04 chipset and I was wondering how good it is. Are there any known problems with it?

Also, what is going to be the maximum CD and DVD write speed when using such a device? I am planing to get an LG GSA-H10L when it's available in Germany.
