Hey guys, i am in need of advice

I currently use my hd650's and a total bithead with eac ripped cd's to hard drive with it being played back in foobar2000 with asio and love the sound (anything i missed quality wise with my setup with out popping out 600 more dollars for the micro line?)

But my girlfriend loves it too and she is willing to spend around some 300 dollars but would perfer more like 200. She has a laptop, ipod and the standard ipod buds at the moment. If the ipod dac is suffiencent with in ear cannals like the ety 4s's would that be ideal for the money? i assume the ipod has a small amplifier in it?

and my third question is, does anyone have a suggestion without going extremely overboard to securing my music files (wavpack) than what i have: which is two seagate 320gig hard drives with the same data on them and monitoring software that monitors S.M.A.R.T? (maybe a safe to put them in later down the road (years...) )??

thanks for the help guys, brilliant as always =D

That is a reasonable solution. As long as they aren't plugged in at the same time (except when syncing).

I think the ety 4s will benefit from an external amp. She might like these headphones; she might not. Depends on how well they fit first of all. I can only listen to them so long until it becomes uncomfortable. They are great for their purpose but it isn't natural for the ears to be sealed off like that and they start to complain after a while.
