Simple recording functionality in fb2k was very useful sometimes, so is it planned to implement in the current version or is this feature completely abandoned?

Why don't you take a recording tool of your choice and create with foo_run a command for launching it? (You also could create a nice looking button for launching)

Because I just need something simple, and i liked this feature on the 0.8.x
But if you know a good recording tool which is simple and light, you can tell me

i may be contented with it...

Huh?! Funnier would be to launch a manipulating application which would tell an RS232-connected robo-arm to press REC on a tape deck!

Questions about fb2k core development plans are useless, because the only author of the software, peter, doesn't write here and in fact, questions like this remain unanswered.

As far as I remember, foo_record was a component made by Case, so it had nothing to do with foobar2000 core development. Most of it could still be implemented for 0.9 by a third party developer, with the notable exception of being able to directly use the Converter to generate output files in a specific format.

a line-in source plugin together with the advanced dithering, limiting and resampling options would be great to be able to avoid truncation when using 24bit optical in (spdif).
not all digital audio is available in forms of files. i wonder why line-in streams are not part of the core architecture of foobar2000, as the output is a stream too.
i´m having issues with a 24/41 stream from an digital in, which is loosing dynamics, information and sound quality while it is forcefully truncated somewhere inside windows later on. foobar could provide a way to avoid that.
