Full Version: A question about 3.90 aps fast standard BUG
Hydrogenaudio Forums > Lossy Audio Compression > MP3 > MP3 - General

1. Can anybody tell more about this bug fixed in 3.91:

Darin Morrison:  Bugfix for --alt-preset (for content with low volume, clean vocals), only important for the "fast standard" preset

2. Did somebody listened it?

3. Is it fixed in Dibrom's 3.90.2?

and

4. What will you advise to use with --aps fast standard-3.92 or 3.90.2

Thanks.

IMHO the only reason why 3.90.2 was created by Dibrom was to fix the problems with the fast presets.
As mentioned in other threads before: 3.90.2 is heavily tested ...
That's the reason why it is still the recommended LAME Compile in this forum.
Please check the List of recommended LAME compiles. I always wonder why people don't read it or if they've read it why they don't believe it. (Yes, it's even recommended for the fast presets).

Don't wonder. I did read it already and not one time. And there are NO words "aps fast standard bug is fixed". I advise you read it carefuly. You will find there:
Q.Are these the same as the LAME 3.90 Stable binaries?

A.Dibrom: Yes, except they are my own compiles. They should be a bit faster than the "fast" compiles from Mitiok.

And no words about bug fix. I will be grateful to anybody who will show me history with theese words 'cause I often use this preset.

It took me a while, but I found a quote that answers your question. Look through the old "Validated News" forum on page 17, and you'll see mention of 3.90, 3.90.2, and 3.91 releases.

Here's the post, quoted below for your convenience.

Yes.

So to answer your question, 3.90.2 does contain the fast-preset fix that you saw listed for 3.91.

So I hope he was not referring to your style of clothing... Suit at your spare time but tight fitting leather while working on LAME. wink.gif

Yuck.. That thought gave me the creeps...

If I see a masked man wearing a superhero costume with HA.ORG written on the front while watching the 6 O'clock evening news I'll know its you.
