When you edit the metadata of a file in the playlist and make some changes in a field, then press Esc or Enter, foobar2000 BEEPS. This is an audio player, it should NOT produce other sounds than what it's supposed to play.

Is there a way to disable that (other than disabling events in CP), or to let the author know about this?

It doesn't for me, using XP SP2. I tried both using columns UI inline editing and the file properties dialog. What OS are you running? And I don't see why it shouldn't beep, it's no different from any other windows application, and the edit boxes behave in the way you would expect. This includes beeping when invalid characters are entered, if that is how you have configured windows to behave in control panel.

It is fixed in the latest foobar2000 (0.9.3.1)
