In fb v0.83, it was possible to „tag“ (set properties ans store them in .fpl) streams, which was quite usefull for display puroposes (sorting) in ColumnsUI. In 0.9, it's impossible to create such playlists.

You are right. In v0.9 the info is stored only in file tags , making it impossible to store data for streams.
Although its use is limited you can try foo_custominfo which stores specific predefined tag info in external txt file.
