I put in an 0404, disabled the on-board audio in the bios, but was still hooking up my speakers through the on-board audio at the back of the motherboard. Then I remembered what the analog outs are for...

I hate it when I search for days for the solution to something and when I think I finally found it, I get a forum post that just says "Fixed it!! It was so obvious!"
