I've got a lot of FLAC and APE tracks in my library. And I'd like to have them on my iPod of course. So I need some FLAC-APE to AAC conversion software.

First I've tried Easy CD_DA Extractor. Not satisfying sad.gif Its AAC codec sounds noticeably worse than QT one, especially on 128 kbps. But the only piece of software that works with right QT AAC codec I know is iTunes. And it is NOT compatible with APE or FLAC. So please help me and clear how can I do such kid of conversion. With QT plug which lets me add APE/FLAC to iTunes? Or with external app which can access to QT AAC codec?

Thank you.

I use the Mediacoder for that. It's an awesome tool!

Thanks. But does it use QUICKTIME AAC? Or it uses open-source FAAC (the same that uses Easy CD-DA)?

Why don't you try foobar + Nero AAC? It is iTunes and iPod compatible (I use it myself to encode lossless files to AAC)

Problem is quality of sound (at 128 Kbps) not compatibility. Easy Cd-Da result file is iPod compatible also.
But anyway, thank you. Now I'm just trying Nero AAC Codec in Mediacoder.

Yes, it makes use of iTunes which is the same. So obviously you have to have iTunes installed biggrin.gif
