Full Version: EAC/LAME errors

After using MusicMatch and iTunes, I've been trying to switch to EAC/LAME for ripping. I really like the program, especially the VBR aspect. I've had a problem though, when an error is detected. After the 10 or so retries, the ripping for that track stops.

I'd rather the program continue to rip and give me a small pop or whatever, but I can't figure out how to do so.

Alternately, can anyone recommend a VBR ripper that is a bit more fault tolerant?

Also, anyone know when the 64 bit versions of EAC and LAME will make the scene?

Thanks from a first poster!

"Fault tolerant" seems a bit off to me. The fault probably lies in the condition of the disc, not EAC. If you would like EAC to rip the track without taking forever, switch to burst mode.

From what is being described it seems as though the rip will have errors regardless of the mode at which point the user should be concerned about whether the error is audible or not.

Also, EAC is not a "VBR ripper", EAC is just a ripper. Its native format is wave. Lame is the program responsible for creating VBR mp3 files and does not have to be used with EAC.
