Sorry, this has probably been asked, not been on this board a lot.

I'm using v0.9.2 of foobar ATM and have lots of settings and .dlls. I'm considering upgrading to v0.9.3.
Will it be the same as my prior upgrade, i.e. it kept all my settings.

Will my plugins work in v0.9.3?

Sorry again from my lame question!;)
Yotsuya
Generally speaking you should be able to upgrade from 0.9.x to 0.9.x without a problem. However it is always a good idea to backup your foobar directories (Not only program files, but if you use per-user settings also the documents and settings directory) before an upgrade just in case you are that one in a million user who it doesnt work for. And if you are really paranoid you will backup your music collection too.

Upgrading your foobar is also a good time to go through your components directory. Remove any components you are not using and check for updates on the components that you are.

I just downloaded v0.9.3, but it had no effect when I installled it. I'm still on v0.9.2.

What files do you save? I've wanted to know this before actually. Hasn't foobar got some function to let you create a settings file?

It all depends on how you installed foobar. Personally I add the directory
C:\Program Files\foobar2000
into a .zip file and set it to the side for backup. If you enabled per-user settings you should also look for
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\foobar2000
and add that to a .zip file as well.

replace USERNAME with your windows login name, feel free to use something other than .zip, etc etc. The main foobar configuration file is foobar2000.cfg but I would suggest backing up more than that.

Just install it to the same place, with the same installer settings. Your foobar2000 settings will be preserved.

If you change the option for where the foobar2000.cfg file is stored, then you'll have to copy the .cfg file manually.
