Has anyone else noticed that, between installations (even when reinstalling the same version), the order of commands and groups within foobar2000's context menu seems to change? I have also noticed the colour used to highlight the currently playing track changing from time to time as well.

I can't think of any reason for these things to occur, so I wonder if anyone else has noticed this and if it is just a quirk or if there is an actual reason. unsure.gif

That's a known weakness of the current context menu system. Unfortunately, having a sane default layout and being able to freely edit the layout don't mix too well.

Which user interface are you using?

Thank you for your reply, foosion.

So, is the menu's commands' order likely to differ every time? It doesn't bother me; I'm just wondering.

I'm using 0.9.4b1 "as is". Currently, the playing track is bright green when highlighted and purple otherwise; with 0.9.3.1, the colours were yellow and navy respectively. I'm sure there have been different colours in the past.

Interestingly, Windows' "Deleting the shortcut to foobar2000 . . . " dialog's "Add or Remove Programs" link is now purple like 0.9.4b1's highlighted tracks; I am sure it was blue before! blink.gif I haven't altered anything, have reset the theme and colours and still can't find any way to change this within Control Panel, so I am thoroughly confused.

I hope this doesn't confuse you too much. I await your reply! smile.gif

The Default User Interface uses a special system color to highlight the playing track (I forgot how it is called exactly). I'd say it is the same color that is used for the link you mentioned. However, foobar2000 itself does not modify this system color (or any other for that matter).

After searching, I believe that the "hot-tracking" colour from Windows Explorer is used. See below:

(On my own computer, the colour is now a teal of sorts.)

I can't think what could have caused the colour to change upon installation (and numerous times in the past). I'm not saying that foobar2000 has changed the colour, as such, but I have no other explanation.

As for the menu, is the order essentially random? I can't pick out any pattern between (re)installations.

These are stupid little things to pick on but they bug me! tongue.gif Thanks for your time (and patience).
