Hello!

OK, let me explain my situation.

I have FLAC encoded files that I want to convert to MP3 so I can put it on my iPod.

Now, when I convert it either from FLAC or WAV I want it to add the album information.

I would like to do something like what EAC does which is when you put in the CD it locates the album info and you select the right one.

Is there anything out there that can help me?

thanks much.

foobar2000 can do this.

The freedb component for foobar (optional, though bundled in the latest beta release) can look up an album of mp3s, flacs, etc. on freeDB just as you would a CD. foobar's converter can also be used to transcode your flacs to mp3s.

So you could transcode your flacs to mp3s, then look up the metadata & tag via freeDB. Alternately, you could look up the metadata & tag on your flacs, then transcode, in which case foobar will automatically apply the flac tags to the mp3. cool.gif

There's an entire forum for foobar here at HA.
Also a lot of stuff in the wiki.
This manual is also an excellent starting point.
