Hi!

my brother has about 12gb of mp3s, and his tags are a mess!
... now i want to correct his tags, but he is 500km away.

Instead of sending 3 dvds via (real) mail, my idea was to simply email the foobar-database (~5mb)

But if i want to tag an entry in the db which isn't there, i get an error.

-> Is there any way to set foobar to a "db-only" mode, so that it does't care if the files are present?

I am not sure if you will be able to something like that at all with fb2k. However, Mp3tag has a feature that allows one to import tags to files via a TXT file. Might be something that could work for you. You could have your brother export the file tags to a txt file, then take that file and clean it up, and then he could re-import the tags.

I have never done this, but I believe you should be able to do it.

it should be feasible with version 0.8.3 using the "Block tag update" option.
