Hi,

I'm after some luggable speakers, something I can take when I go camping so they can't be too big but are okay as long as they're luggable. They need to run off batteries, preferable normal rechargeable cells, and need to run for a good few hours while still sounding half decent. Line in is a requirement too.

In a perfect world they'd also run directly off a car battery (is this possible?) to increase the runtime and would also be tough enough to survive a full week of Glastonbury.

Does anything like this exist? At the smaller end Logitech do the mm50's which aren't bad but the liion battery is fixed so after 10 hours I have no music.Cambridge Soundworks apparently used to do some 'mick fleetwood' model which apparently came in a flightcase and ran off a car battery. Is this true?

Cheers for any feedback.

Cambridge Audio did have a three way setup with two small speakers in a case. The small speakers were satellites and the case became the subwoofer. It owrked with a small tuner, too. Sweet setup. Almost bought one about ten years ago. Maybe eBay. cool.gif

Heh.

Is anyone else imagining waterproof car speakers with a built in coil of extra speaker cable in/behind the speaker pocket, that can be <ker-click> pulled out of the doors and placed anywhere withing a 25-foot radius of their in-door homes? smile.gif

Now, talk about a SERIOUS "Boom Box"!

Is there something which is of higher quality? I'd be willing to pay more. I know the sattelites of those cambridge system, and while they do sound okay, they dont impress me.
