Hi John,

love your stuff but have seen that your mirrors are pretty different to be specular tongue.gif, I suggest to sync at least the primary Robeto's site when you have time. I think someone is still trying to get your works at Rarewares but isn't finding the new cool stuff tongue.gif.
(BTW, I always use(d) Mirror 1)

Thanks,
good work!

P.S.: any tries/findings how to set and how perform ICL7 for Athlons?

I know what you mean! wink.gif I'll try and sort something out in the next few days. Actually, Miirror 3 seems to be unavailable so I'll remove that one, temporarily, at least.

Yes, I have done some testing and there seems to be no difference for us Athlon users. I'll probably switch to ICL 7 for all compiles though, anyway.

Do you really still need/want to run your site under the Rarewares label?
IMO it has pretty much grown out of it and should eveolve into something new, which better resembles the quality of your programs and the liability of your work (Rarewares still sounds kinda suspicious).

John,

I can probably give you the ftp details for my mirror (audio.ciara.us) if you want to keep that up-to-date - depends if you just want to setup your own site. I'll need to check with Roberto first though - it's his baby (just my space) so I want to be respectful of his work.

Cheers, Paul

Thanks, Paul, I already have them!! wink.gif It's mainly down to me I think!!

Then you have my blessing to do as little or much as you wish to abuse my 5Gig/month bandwidth limit!

It would be nice if your compilations of FAAD could be found easily from the mainpage, too. As far as I remember, one has to know the direct link to download them, or am I wrong?

I appreciate what you're saying, but I am trying not to fall foul of the Dolby bloodhounds!! wink.gif Any mention of these on the pages would bring instant retribution, I fear! It's OK for Roberto because Brazil doesn't recognise anything legally unless it's written in Portuguese, apparently!! biggrin.gif

OK, accepted... biggrin.gif Although I'm not so sure that they would get at your throat because of hosting an AAC decoder binary that is free of charge anyhow. Did you take a look at the licensing FAQ on Dolby's website recently (after they came up with it in late March 2002)? It is quite liberal in my opinion, e.g. asking no fees from commercial content providers (internet radio stations etc.) like Thomson does for mp3PRO. By the way, Dolby changed this to an independent site during the last few days:

http://www.vialicensing.com/products/mpeg4...licenseFAQ.html

As far as I know they also have stopped mailing Roberto for quite a long time now, so maybe they're more interested in commercial producers of "ready to use" hard- and software who get paid for their products - like Nero... wink.gif

Hmmm, it still looks like it's 25cents/channel/annum, $25000 max for decoders, PC software based. I'd rather not run the risk if you don't mind!! wink.gif
