Hello,

I'm looking for good quality headphones. They would be used for lossless audio and divx (tv series in 2.0).
I'm thinking about the Koss ur-40 but I don't know much about headphones.

Right know I have Altec Lansing AHS 423 for my computer and Sharp MD33 for my DAP.

Maybe I should change the sound card too. I've an integrated one. If yes, help me to find one biggrin.gif (max. 30$)

Thanks for your time.

Grado SR-60 or Sony MDR-V6(can get refurbished on ebay right now for $49 + $15 shipping). Sony MDR-V6 has far superior durability/build quality, if that is important to you. Both units are probably the best, period, for the price range you specified. The Grado SR-60 will be slightly over your set amount, though.

I always suggest Sound Blaster Live! 24 bit for a low cost, high quality card with a nice integrated headphone amplifier. It is about $30 from Creative off of their website.

I recently purchased a pair of Sennheiser PX 100s and now that I'm used to them they sound very nice, but I'm not sure if they're in the price range where you are. My previous headphones were a very poor quality TDK pair, and initially the Sennheisers sounded very bad to me, I guess because psychologically I was used to compensating for the TDKs' lack of quality.

Sennheiser PX100, $50 at Target or CircuitCity.

I've had MDR-V6 (well, MDR-7506, which is the same I think) for over 3 years, and I've managed to break one of the things that maintains one of the speakers to the rest of the headset. It is still useable though.

However, I think it is the best and most durable headset I have ever had.

I can't find the "sound blaster live! 24".

The ones I can get for the same price are the "SOUND BLASTER AUDIGY SE BULK" and the "Hercules Muse 5.1".

Are they good or worthless and I stick with my integrated one ?
