Full Version: Strange sounds between MP3s on burned mp3 CDs

Hello all,

Has anyone else ever run into this problem? Sometimes when I play an mp3 disk on my home theater dvd player there will be strange sounds between the mp3s. It doesn't happen between all the mp3s, and I don't think it happens in the same places when I burn multiple copies of an mp3 disk (could be wrong, although I am pretty sure I checked this before...might be a good thing to confirm...). It sounds like the dvd player is trying to read some sort of data on the CD and convert it to audio. Strange digital sounds that are usually extremely loud compared to the songs. Sometimes it sounds like a loud chirp. I also am pretty sure that it doesn't happen when I play the cd on my computer.

FYI, I am using Nero 6 to do the burning.

The sounds are quite annoying...especially if I am playing some instrumental music that is not all that loud, so I have the volume up, and suddenly this deafening digital sounding sound blasts out of the speakers.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
evereux
I think I know the sound you're talking of. I get this in my car MP3 CD player when I use a disc that has become scratched over time.

This is most likely the data stream being corrupted or maybe this is a player than doesn't properly support some aspects of MP3, like certain ID3 types (which would explain why this happens between tracks). You'll need to do some more testing yourself to narrow down the problem.

Is the problem consistent with the same MP3s from one disc to another? If so, strip the files of any tags to see if the problem persists.
