Full Version: Compiling LAME 3.97 in OS X

Hi, never compiled anything before, I think that's what I have to do here... I use LameBrain to encode MP3s in 10.4.7, I've updated its LAME version once before to 3.97b2, but when I downloaded b2 it was just one file called "lame" that I dropped into the bin directory in LameBrain's folder, and it worked fine. However with 3.97 I don't see any file just named lame. I reckon I have to compile it, not sure though... I tried following the directions in INSTALL, went into the lame-3.97 directory in the terminal and typed ./configure. It started to do stuff, then gives an error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH. Uhhhh
