I want do some work at foobar2000's startup from my little plugin. Could anyone point me to an interface for that purpose? What should I override or what a listener should be registered?

Additionally, how to to get a handle to the main window?

I believe the initquit structure is related to your first question, and foosions General Component Tutorial, foo_tutorial1, shows how to use that and also answers your second question too (core_api::get_main_window()).
