I don't like VLC and MPlayer as audio players; they don't remember the position in the playlist anyway. Audion doesn't support many formats either, and is available only in PPC binary (whereas I use an MacBook Pro; it still works, but consumes more CPU time for instruction translation). I have tried to build and install XMMS through MacPorts, but get some weird error message and that's a completely separate story.
Features that I am (or not) looking for (listed in descending priority):
- Ability to play multiple formats (mp3, ogg, ape are of top priority; expansibility through plugins or codecs would be nice but not as urgent);
- Ability to play ShoutCast streams would be nice;
- Equaliser (with presets would be nice);
- Visualisation
Does anybody have a good suggestion (other than switching back to Windows or installing a different *nix/Linux distro).
