"computer speakers" are normally 'active' which means they have power amplifiers built in. Home music speakers can be but most often are not. They have to be connected to a power amplifier or receiver, which is just a power amplifier, preamplifier, and tuner, all in one box.
If the later case, you must connect your computer to the complete system, not just to the speakers. You need an appropriate cable to go from the computer soundcard, the place you currently have the "computer speakers" connected, to a line input on your music system.
I understand.
I used to have have a receiver and had it connected to my computer but it broke. I connected my speakers to my other receiver but I can't connect my computer or tv to it because theres no inputs for it. I have the wires that go from my computer to the receiver.
I know that I can add my soud system to my computer because my friends has almost the same speakers as me and he did it. It's not going to be as loud though if I do that.
I dont have the money right now to buy a new receiver. Should I try and connect one speaker from my surround sound system to my computer?
