Full Version: ABX Software/Tool for MAC?
Hydrogenaudio Forums > Hydrogenaudio Forum > General Audio
Spooky
Sorry for this question as it seems like I should be able to find this by searching but I was not able to.

What tool/s or software are there for conducting my own ABX testing on MAC OSX?

I'm just looking for a nice. simple tool that can easily assist me in doing some personal comparisons.

Thanks in advance!

I'm not aware of any specifically made for OSX. I was thinking of writing one, actually, but have been too busy with other projects.

This might be a good place to hash out specs if anyone is interested.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but won't the Java version of ABC/HR work on a Mac?

Yes, I used it just the other day on Mac OS 10.4.7. There are click sounds when switching between sources, but otherwise the ABX functionality appeared to work.

Fixed version and the latest.

I've just tried the application on my MacBook (OS 10.4.8) and it seems to work.
I have the impression however that it doesn't work with 24 bit audio. I'd like to ABX wav and aiff audio of 24 bit at various sample rates (44.1/48/96/192). Is that possible ?

Thanks.

That would be just great!
I really miss a usable native Mac OS X ABX application.

Let me be the first to post some wanted features:
* Lossy audio support (ex. MP3, Ogg Vorbis, AAC and Musepack)
* Lossless audio support (ex. Apple Lossless, WavPack, FLAC, Ogg FLAC, Monkey's Audio, AIFF and WAVE).
* Gain correction.
* Offset correction.
* Select playback range.
* Save, and open, sessions.
