I am wondering why hasn't anyone done a simple plugin that make Foobar looks and works like itunes?
Are there currently any limitation in the SDK that prevent us doing so?

I know column ui is good but it it still far too many config to mess with.
loft
What do you mean by "make Foobar looks and works like itunes". What specific feature(s) are you looking for? What does iTunes has and foobar doesn't?
Tell us that and maybe we could tell you if the SDK has any limitations when it comes to implement that.

If you like to browse your library by panes instead of tree try foo_browser

But don't believe it was so simple to write such a plugin
Melomane
try also foo_playlist_tree ( same developper as browser)
and quick search toolbar

Actually that plugin does exist:Itunes looks

Exactly, what's the point in using foobar, when you want it to look like itunes, and work like itunes..?
tgoose
Lower resource usage, more flexibility, more file formats supported, better tagging. I guess I can cross off gapless playback now but there still lots of advantages to fb2k. The only thing it's lacking is the polished UI that iTunes has out of the box.
Melomane
coverflow for foobar

Yes it is.
Foobar with foo_browser, foo_uie_single_column_playlist, and foo_uie_trackinfo_mod.

Nice work in mirroring an itunes interface.

Two questions:

1. Are those spectrum analyzers actually functional? If so, what foobar spectrum analyzer is that?

2. Does that trackinfo_mod seekbar you made have clickable/dragable seek functionality or is it just eye-candy?
rheuh
I also wonder how you made the buttons on the bottom... anyway I don't think that foo_uie_trackinfomod can handle clickable buttons, so the only possible config I see for this is

CODE

+----------------------------------------------------------+
|                           ...                            |
+-------------------+------------------+-------------------+
|   trackinfo_mod   |     toolbar      |   trackinfo_mod   |
|  (single image)   |   with buttons   |  (single image)   |
+-------------------+------------------+-------------------+
|               trackinfo_mod (single image)               |
+----------------------------------------------------------+

Is this how you made it?
Nickoladze
there is a $button function for trackinfo_mod now

Alternatively, you could make iTunes sound like foobar2000 with Multi-Plugin, but that defeats the purpose.

1. Nop
2. The seekbar is not clickable but isnt just eye-candy. It shows the position of the playing track.

Nop. The bottom panel is a single trackinfo_mod and the latest version support clickable buttons

Never heard of Objectbar. Is it just for appearance, or is there a functional benefit?
