Ok audio theorist out there =)

i have 256 point hrir's that i sample at 44.1khz and the question is at what bitrate?

They will be used with convolver on sourceforge. and outputed throuhgh a bithead at 16 bits. so should i save them to 32 bit wav files, 24 or is 16 enough?

the files are all 16 bit 44.1khz except for dvd audio.

i believe 24 is enough but someone tell me why i am wrong, please

thanks!

16 bit will produce a bit more noise than 24 or 32 bit. You should use the highest bit deph that is compatible with the convolver. you can also hear for yourself if 16 bit produce audible noise. if not, you can safely go with 16 bit.
