Is there a program that can add mass album art to mp3's without having to do it track be track with "Mp3 Tag Tools"?

I just stumbled across the fact that my psp shows embedded album art, but the only way I can get the album art is to embed it each track at a time.

With the amount of music tracks I have that would take ages! laugh.gif

I have some tracks that have gone through WMP11 and have album art embedded but thats about 2 of my CD's huh.gif
I can't get it to do the rest of them (I don't know why it did the first few anyway!?)

(I did a search and found nothing unsure.gif)

dannyb37,

Do you have the mp3 files organized as albums and in separate album folders?
Do you already have the needed image files in the album folders?
If yes, how are the image files named?

Edit:

Do you have other image files in the same folders?

I have them organised as

"My Music"\Artist\Album\Artist - Track.mp3

I have a album cover in that folder but its hidden (WMP11 puts it there)

Edit: I'll give iTunes a shot, (I already have it installed, but don't use it! laugh.gif )

EDIT:
Thanks for all your help, but I got SonicStage to do it! laugh.gif But If you have any better suggestions, I would like to hear them! smile.gif

OK, I have a similar issue--

I am using Windows Media Center (which of course uses WMP) to rip my hundreds of CDs (via the Sony 200 dvd/cd changer).

It works fine as long as it can find the album art. MCE uses the thumbnail images in it's 10' interface.

But if it can't, I get a generic icon instead. While I can use several programs (currently playing with MediaMonkey) to choose the correct cover art image from Amazon, I have no idea how to download / create the proper images for the folders, so everything shows up in MCE.

It embeds all the pics in the MP3s.

1. Is there some program which allows you to save the album art to the folder as well as the MP3 and...
2. Is there a program which can extract the album art from the MP3 into the folder?

Much obliged for the assistance.

Danny,
Check out MediaMonkey!
I'm lovin' this as an MP3 manager... it does everything I want.
And not only can you add artwork to a bunch of files in one move, it also.... wait for it.... gives you the option to embed the artwork into the ID3 tag!! Woo-bloody-hoo!
Love that.
That way, the artwork goes wherever the MP3 goes. Sweet.

You can use http://mp3tag.de/en/index.html
Load your files, select them, press Shift+Alt+5 and choose "Import cover from file"
Then just enter folder.jpg as format string and let it work.

Im having a similar problem.

In my "Shared Folder" there are various artists. I wanna hard embed album art into each mp3 file because adding a folder.jpg folder in the "My Shared Folder' does not work.

I'll second the vote for mp3tag. Using the above method you can tag your whole library in one step, it's very easy.

I generally allow WMP11 to download the album art for me, and then use mp3tag to embed the art in the files. This process allows the art to be displayed on my Samsung T9.

Will this program also allow a wildcard to represent the directory name in the format string? Each of my albums has a low-res (120x120) "folder.jpg," but also a higher-resolution cover with the same name as the directory (as in the example below).

There are many placeholders available, like %_directory% for your case.

You must have organized the album art files and your MP3s in some decent directory structure. Or else, If you have tagged all your MP3s correctly, you can organize them into directories using MP3TagStudio.

Once you do that, use metamp3 along with the script in this thread.
