Full Version: Native FLAC import component for QuickTime(/iTunes)

FLACImport component for QuickTime is available at: FLAC Importer files.

It complements XiphQT with native FLAC importing until a new importer gets written as a part of XiphQT.

I haven't tested it on Intel platform, but it works on PPC with QuickTime and a couple of other QuickTime apps. Some special steps are necessary for iTunes, but works too. See my comments/rants on this for some more info.

All feedback (especially - does it work on Intel Macs?) is welcome.

Does it support the tag information? (tracks, titles, artist, etc) without the need to run a custom script to import it?

Also, does it make itunes any slower? I had to re-encode my entire library because the ogg support on the itunes thing is a joke, everytime I had to play a OGG file over the network, itunes just froze for a couple of seconds...

In iTunes it doesn't support numeric tags (track number, year). Titles, artist and genre seem to work.

And yes, it's even slower than XiphQT's ogg importer.
