Checking back in on the TIT1 and WM/ContentGroupDescription support in both foobar and foo_infobox.

Both of them are a grouping/subgenre that is typically needed by large libraries like I have. Labeling something "Classical" isn't enough. Large libraries need "Classical" and "Piano". Or perhaps "Classical" and "Baroque".

I'm a smart guy but rusty in coding. But I suspect I could add the support for it in one or the other codebase by looking at the existing tag support.

Would anyone please allow me to do this?

Not necessary.

The field name to be used for the TIT1 frame is CONTENT GROUP.

I stand corrected on MP3 ID3 tagging. Thank you.

That leaves the WMA tagging. My offer still stands to add the equivalent TIT1 support to the WMA support codebase. WMA documentation at

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default....3tagsupport.asp

supports it being WM/ContentGroupDescription and that metafield is supported by the less-than-stellar Windows Media Player 9 and 10. Common meta usage can reduced user confusion across apps and when legally, of course, sharing media with others.
