Summary:

They fixed 3 years-old bugs and made the interface vista-like.

I'm not even joking, the last time I tested it they'd fixed 3 CSS bugs and that's it.

At least we web developers can start dropping support for IE5 now...

I installed it on my home machine and it hung on boot. I rebooted and everything worked fine after that.

its obvious that you don't have faith on microsoft.

I actually did. They have been talking so much about increasing security, buying software security companies, cutting down on holes and changing development tactics that I said to my self "yes they are getting their act together". That bug was found in april and they havent fixed it.

I'm not surprised!

Actually the only problem I'm having after installing it isn't even in IE itself, it's instead in Windows when I go to click my taskbar Start button which after installing IE is sort of getting stuck for maybe .50 of a second then opens normally.

Can someone do an ABX test between an alternative browser and IE7 and post the results? Samples would be nice too laugh.gif

Firefox is built to allow easy extensibility through an interface that is made with a dialect of XML.

It's not as easy for people to write a add-ons for Internet Explorer. But if you want to filter content, as you mention, there are various solutions available, some of them quite sophisticated. Here's one:

More generally, IE7 is an update everyone will probably want whether he uses IE or not, as Brian Krebs, suggests:
