Sinistral
Hey,

Since I heard you guys are very good when it comes to audio, I was hoping you could help me. sweat.gif

I've been downloading a 367MB big APE file, but it's been stuck now at 99,9% for over a month. That's why I tried listening to it, without that 0,1%. I could just listen to all the songs, and I didn't hear any weird noises (although I didn't listen to every second of the APE file, I just skimmed through it).

However, since I don't want a big APE file, but seperate FLAC files, I tried to decompress the APE file. I tried this with Monkey's Audio 4.01, but it just stopped in the middle of the process, saying the file has an invalid checksum (it's the same when I try to verify it). Then I tried decompressing it with EAC, which worked and gave no errors. However 21 of the 30 songs inside were now static... bye2.gif

So, now my obvious question is, can you decompress an incomplete APE file, without doing too much damage to the songs? Thanks in advance for any help! happy.gif

Use converter in Foobar2000. At least 0.8.3 can do the job. I'm not sure about 0.9.x

Use Winamp's Disk Writer plug-in and make sure you configure the Monkey's Audio Player plug-in to ignore bitstream errors.

How are you using EAC to decompress an ape file?
