Hi guys!
I just downloaded a new album, but its tags where all messed up,
There were no tracknumbers, all artist tags were "Various" and the discnumber was specified in the directory.
do you have any script that can fix all of this, the tags look like this:
Title: 09-B.J. Thomas-Raindrops Keep
Artist: Various
No tracknumber
No discnumber
No album artist

And the directory is as follows:
C:\Documents and Settings\Andreas\Mina dokument\Forrest Gump-Soundtrack-2CD(OGGvorbis(VBR256))-Docer\CD2\09-B.J. Thomas-R
cheers

Well, it's not that much work to tag one single album manually...
Otherwise use the freedb component and look up the album online

Yes but I usually come up with albums that have messy tags, if I just know how to do this album I could solve later problems myself smile.gif

You get Tracknumber, Artist and Title from the filename with the "guess values from filename" function in masstagger. You would have to use something like this: %tracknumber%-%artist%-%title%. Discnumber might also be doable, but I have never tried it, maybe something like %discnumber%\%tracknumber%-%artist%-%title% could work ? The hard part, would be writing a script, that works with different folder structures and different file names. I am not sure, that this is worth the effort - I just added a hotkey for the freedb component, let that do the work and then move the files from my incoming directory to my music library with the masstaggers rename feature.
