Hey guys,
I've been testing Windows Vista for a couple of months already and recently installed RC1. The installation completed successfully and everything seems to be working normally except for my Internet connection.
My PC is connected to the Internet over an ADSL connection. I have a network card that is connected to my DSL modem (no router, firewall, whatsoever) and the connection is made over PPPoE. When I start Windows Vista, a few seconds after I log in I can see the LAN symbol in the system tray, but it has an exclamation mark and tells me that I have restricted connectivity (not sure if that's the English name since I have the German version installed that reads "Eingeschränkre Konnektivität"). It also tells me that there is a problem with my IP address. I changed the IPv4 properties to use the IP address 192.168.0.1 and the subnet mask 255.255.255.0 which is also what I use under Windows XP Service Pack 2, but no success. Letting Windows determine the IP address automatically also doesn't work (which is to be expected since there is no DHCP server in my network). Do you guys know how to fix this problem?
Regards,
Sebastian
