Does anyone know what the changes are between the newly released version 3.122 firmware for the Samsung YP-U1X portable player and version 2.242 (with which mine shipped)? I have e-mailed Samsung, but oddly they don't seem to know... Particularly, I want to make sure it doesn't remove UMS and Ogg Vorbis support before I upgrade.

Thanks in advance!

Well, d/l an old firmware before you upgrade and try it out. If you don't like it you can still go back. I had a YP-U1 (for a few days smile.gif ) and I can recommend trying out the korean firmware, it has some nice SRS sound effects and allows for higher volumes than the others (not that I'd use them normally, but it's nice to have a choice).

I had to search around a bit on google, can't tell you any URLs now, sorry. When looking, keep in mind that you don't need really need a firmware specifically for the U1X, any U1 firmware should work, the letter after the U1 just stands for the capacity. It worked for me, but I take no responsibility. tongue.gif

Edit: In fact, I now have a U2 and am using a firmware for a version with integrated radio which my model doesn't have. It works fine as long as I don't try to use the radio, the thing crashes then and has to be reset.

Could please quickly review that U1 ? (pros and cons) I'm thinking about getting that thing, but don't know if it's a safe bet.
