Full Version: AUTOflac support

I just used AutoFlac to rip an album from CD and then convert it straight to FLAC.

I had already previously used EAC and suited its options to whatever I was doing. I changed all options that needed to be changed according to the AutoFlac readme.
In the end, I got a file reading: The Roots - Come Alive (AutoFLAC).wav.wav, and a directory named The Roots/Come Alive/ and within that last directory two files named %N. %T.flac and %N. %T.cue

I'd like to delete that .wav.wav file once its done, and also I'd like my files to be ordered Album/Artist/Cue Sheet+Flac file
I got confused between AutoFlac naming and EAC naming, and having to have them be the same. Can someone help me change which options so its named correctly?

2. the cue sheet works fine but when I open it up it says its reading < "%N. %T.flac" WAVE > Is there a reason why it says WAVE instead of FLAC and does it matter?

3. I haven't read that its possible, but is there a way to save all present and future cuesheets into one folder and all the .flac files in their own respective folders?

4. If I checked "embed cue sheet" in the AutoFLAC settings do I need the extra cue sheet that is produced or can I delete it (If I don't need it is there a way to script AutoFlac to move it to a separate folder for backup)?

Thanks for any help

nilsHaus, I strongly suggest posting questions about AutoFLAC to the main AutoFLAC thread. I try to keep up with that thread on a fairly regular basis, and I'm more likely to see your questions if posted there. Additionally, some other users may be able to respond more quickly than I.

With that out of the way, let me see if I can help.

This should be done automatically. If not, I suspect it's because of a naming issue (see next comment).

I know it's confusing; this issue has been reported a couple times previously. Read the help message that's displayed when you click the ? button to the right of the two naming scheme fields. That should help you figure it out. If you still have any trouble, please post the four naming scheme fields (two from EAC and two from AutoFLAC) here so I can take a look.

That's just how it works. I don't think the CUE sheet spec supports anything other than WAVE files, so even though the file has been encoded as a FLAC file, the CUE sheet must still specify WAVE in order to be compliant.

Of course, I'm no expert here by any means. Other users on the forum are far more knowledgeable than I about such things.

No, this is not possible. All output files (.flac, .cue, .log, etc.) are written to the same folder.

I don't use FLAC images myself, so you'd be better off asking this of someone else. However, you can read this post for some of the technical details on how the embedding works. Perhaps that will help you make up your mind.

Thanks for any help

Anytime. As I suggested at the beginning, though, considering posting to the main AutoFLAC thread next time. I should be able to answer a much more quickly.
