It seems I've gotten a little over my head here, and could definitely use some help if anyone's able. I have about three dozen songs which I'd like to burn to a single DVD for playback on a standalone DVD player. Each song is a DTS .WAV file. Though I could easily create three DTS-CDs, I'm searching for a way to get everything onto one disc instead, both for convenience and to enjoy unbroken playback of the whole compilation. There is no video stream involved.
Initially I'd hoped it might be a straightforward matter of creating a DVD with a large number of .CDA files, but I haven't found software for this purpose, nor am I certain a standalone DVD player would even accept such a disc. Doesn't look too promising, but by all means prove me wrong.
At this point, I suspect the answer would involve using authoring software to create a DVD with the usual AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders. If so, I'm quite uncertain how to proceed, though I'll keep looking for the solution.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? Any specific software that fits the bill?
I think you'd actually have to author a DVD-Video to do this, since nothing will be able to play it otherwise ('cept a PC...). And you'd have to include some sort of video to go along with it. Could probably just be low bitrate, black video or something.
You'd probably be better off burning DTS-CDs.

Yeah, I'm beginning to agree with you; DVD authoring is likely the only viable way to accomplish what I'm trying to do. But as tempting as it is to just pop in some CDs and burn away, I'm not going to give in just yet... I want to crack this nut.

Go to dtsac3.com, scroll down to the guides section. You will find a guide for using one authoring
program, but there are others out there, of course.
HTH.

Fantastic advice. Thanks for the link; after briefly scanning through some threads, I'm certain this forum will help get the job done. Just wish I'd known about it sooner! (It's funny to see how naive I was about what could or could not be done with DTS content.) On the other hand, having learned about some of this stuff the hard way during the last few days, I might even have a few tricks of my own to offer, so it's all good.
Thanks again.
