Hi, for christmas, i wanted to buy some new headphones for my mp3 player.
I'm rippin' with EAC and Lame -v 2 vbr-new
Which are the best headphones (costs not more than 60€)

(I'm using a Sennheiser MX500 and I#m very pleased with it.)
but I want more bass and a better sound quality. (maybe some headphones, with which you don't hear much of the environment around you) dry.gif

hope it isn't too specific.
thx dry.gif

"Best headphones" and "costs not more than 60€"? Hmmm....
The best headphones cost a lot more than that. wink.gif

ok, than the best portable headphones I can get for less than 60€

I have the new Sennheiser PX200. Sounds really good to me and isn't expensive. Perfect for portable use. They are closed so they haven't a bad seal but I have to admit that other like my old Sony (which had worse sound!) had a better one.

There are a lot people how burned them in (like I did) to improve their sound... I don't know if there really was a difference (because I couldn't do a blindtest) but they surely didn't get worse. So, why not... wink.gif

Koss KSC-75: great emotional while still pretty neutral sound for any kind of pop or guitar music, very inexpensive, comfortable to wear (ear clips). I own them, I like them.

Koss PortaPro: classical mini headphone version of the KSC-75, still in your price range, should be slightly better than the KSC-75

Grado iGrado: typical Grado sound which is similar to the KSC-75 sound, slightly outside your price range, very open and as for that not ideal for many kinds of public listening.

The biggest challenge is when listening in a train or so with people sitting next to you which you don't want to disturb and where you don't want to be disturbed by them.
A good choice for that may be ear canal phones giving you total isolation. I use Sennheiser CX300 for this purpose, but there are other inexpensive good phones too (for instance Creative EP-630). But be prepared that you may not like them as universal phones. When walking you will hear your steps, and you may not like the feeling of being totally isolated.

EDITED later:
I should add that the sound impression from an ear canal phone is pretty depending on how they fit into your ear even though usually a set of different sized rubber ear 'adaptors' are supplied. To me for instance the CX300 provide a bit too much of bass (though I like a good bass response). It's possible to improve on that with carefully fitting the phones into the ears but it's hard to do in order not to really break the seal.

I have the Sony MDR-EX71SLs which I really like, despite them being hated by a lot of people. Isolating headphones that are very comfortable and sound very good to me. But my adivce would be to get the cheaper 51-model (which soundwise should be equivalent)- the foolish extension-chord system and monstrously annoying carry case on the 71s are killling me.

I would recommend Panasonic RP-HJE70 (review at head-fi.org), it accurately reproduces sound, has deeper bass and sturdy design. I bought it for about 63€ in a local Panasonic shop.

I would say that the Sennheiser MX500 are already one of the best headphones for under 40€. I think you will need to spend more than 60€ to get something much better.

The Sennheiser PX100, despite being open, has a much better frequency response than the PX200.

@Acid8000: Yes, I know. But when I lost my old PX200 I tried both and I liked the PX200 more. By the way the new PX100/PX200 aren't exactly the same like the older ones. I read somewhere that they have a different metal in it.

But some people don't get a good seal with the PX200. So I recommend you to go in a shop and test different headphones.
