Hi, i'm new to EAC and i have a few problems.
I place a cd in the drive, and eac picks it up.
I rename the songs from Track1, etc... To the Proper Name.
I go to EAC, then compressions then external compressions, and select Use Defined Encoder.
Which i choose OmptimFROG.
Then i go too Action menu
Copy Image& Create Cue Sheet.
Now it converts to the optimFrog, but the cute sheet has .wav at the end of the name.
And i'm unable to use it to play the files.
Example, Best Of Dylan- Bob Dylan.wav <---as the cue sheet.
Why is this happeing?
However if i use monkey's audio, or regualr wav everything is ok.
Oh, and how do you rip cds with EAC, or am what i'm doing ripping?

that's just the way it is, rename your files, and check in the cue sheet if the name of the file it's supposed to point to is correct also
HI, even if i rename the cuesheet, "name.ofr" when i import that into foobar, it does nothing. Besides give me an error. I dont know whats wrong.

Are you renaming the CUE sheet or renaming the FILE line inside the CUE sheet?
A CUE sheet is nothing more than a text file.
...but I don't use OptimFROG, so I really don't know if there's something more to it than this.
Hi, i'm renaming the cuesheet name. If i convert to omptimFROG the file is converter correctly. But as for the cuesheet, the name is, "Name.Wav.Wav, or Name.ape.wav.
So, i change it to just "Name.ofr", which does not work. Hm... i'll keep fooling around with it

Name the CUE file "Name.cue"
Inside the CUE file, find the line that says:
FILE "Name.wav" WAVE
change it to:
FILE "Name.ofr" WAVE
Hi, thanks. That did not work. I still get Unable to open item for playback (Error parsing cuesheet: invalid index list (line 16)):
"E:\Unknown Title.CUE"
Monkey's Audio and Wave are the Only ones that work correctly with cue sheet.
Could someone tell me the steps they use for making these? Flac, or Wavpack, frog, anything besides monkey's audio, since i know that one already works.

Please post the entire contents of the CUE sheet (use the "codebox" command to display the information rather than the "code" command)
Also, make sure that Windows is not configured to hide extensions for known file types in its folder options.
Hi, sorry for the wait, I'm in more then half way thourgh converting again to flac. But here is the cue sheet. Not Sure About What You Mean By Code Box, you mean on here? Or inside of EAC Somewhere. I will post it in here with the code option, sorry if thats wrong.

You could use the wiki:
http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?ti...EAC_and_WavPackhttp://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?title=EAC_and_FlacThat said, I would not tag the files for these tests, so would use the command lines:
CODE
-f %s %d
.. for Wavpack, and:
CODE
-0 %s
.. for FLAC. These will run faster and won't tag the image which may confuse results seen when loading the cuesheet.
Aside from that, greynol's last suggestion is good, as you seem to be
very confused. As well as the cuesheet contents I would also like to see the filenames of the files created.
Edit: I really think that we needed to see an OptimFrog example, not a Monkey's Audio example.
Hi, yes thats the thing, it was flac. It named it'self .ape cue sheet BBS, gonna read the links.
Hi, thank you 2 for helping me. Problem is still here. No matter what if its flac, optimfrog, wavpack shorten.etc... (besides monkey's audio and wave) the cue sheet will not play in foobar2000.
I am tired at the moment lol, of ripping the same cd a million times different ways. Renaming all the files in the cuesheet does not help... Here are some of the things i've tried.
Eac, Named The Tracks Correctly Since They're (track01 etc..)
Then i used Action Detect Gaps
Then Creat Cue Sheet multiple waves-non compliant
Then Shift F6 to rip to flac, <--- since i'm trying this one out now
After All Is Done, the files correctly compress to flac.
They all play, But the cue sheet does not.
Edited the cue sheet many times.
The cue is name lets say. BobDylan-BestOf<---only when i use Action and CopyImage&Creat Cue Sheet.
If i use Action and then Creat Cue Sheet, Multiple waves-non compliant, it just gives the name as BobDylan, or it will give it as just Best Of.
I'm gonna take a few hour break neck is killin me.
Take care and thanks for the support and help, i'll try again later

I suggest that you pay particular attention to the "Use file extension" textbox (see "Compression options" dialogue screenshot in either wiki article).
Also, you should pay attention to greynol's suggestion of ensuring that file extensions are visible in Explorer on your machine. From Explorer choose "
Tools" > "Folder
Options...". Move to the "View" tab and ensure that "Hide extensions for know file types" is
unchecked.
The information we are getting is still confusing and unstructured.
I suggest that you rip to image ("Copy Image & Create CUE Sheet" > "Compressed") using your OptimFrog command line (that you have never provided) and then post the cuesheet contents in a CODEBOX (use CODEBOX tag not CODE tag), and list the full file paths of all files created.
Unfortunately, due to a bug in EAC with non-three letter extensions ripping to FLAC or WV is just going to confuse matters here.
QUOTE(Paws @ Nov 16 2006, 20:42)

I go to EAC, then compressions then external compressions, and select Use Defined Encoder.
Which i choose OmptimFROG.
This is suspicious. How exactly do you "choose OptimFROG"? Look to the wiki articles to see how the dialogue is formatted for a particular encoder. I don't use OptimFROG so can't easily suggest a command line to use.
Hi, thanks again. I unchecked hide extentions. Greynol and You thanks for that info. I then did the following like you said

And When i got done and put the cuesheet in Foobar2000 it worked.
Sorry, i was so caught up in trying to understand that i forgot about the settings i use for optimfrog.
Settings: %s %d --encode --mode normal
I went to Eac Menu Drop Down.
Compression Setting, <-- maybe called something else. In the middle of another file's
THen I went and chose the optimfrog, from my foobar2000 folder which i had it in for previous rips with foobar.
And now the cuesheet is normal, i suppose with optimFROG. Here it is with no edits

Now I'm tryin out Flac, in high hopes that'll be all good to go.
I'm assuming that unchecking the hide file extentions in Folder Options for Windows, may have fixed? this problem i was getting with the unplayble cuesheet with wrong .extension

Sorry, but no. Displaying file extensions would not have done anything to resolve a non-working process. It may mean that you are now dragging in the right file perhaps, but it sounds like you were previously able to distinguish the cuesheet, so who knows.
I think it is more likely that, by you amending your External encoder settings between OptimFROG and FLAC (etc.), when you have "re-instated" your OFR settings you have corrected a previous mistake. Maybe.
At least it's working now.
Hi, thanks. Lol yeah at least its' working. About Time i know lol.
OptimFROG works
True Audio Works
Monkey's Audio Works
Wave Works.
Needs to work, Shorten, WavPack, Lossless Audio(working on getting these to works) No luck so far maybe wrong parameters?
I noticed if the file isn't Filename.wav, in your location the temp file. Well if its not, your cuesheet will not work. But if your file name is, name.wav for the temp then your cuesheet will work.
Edit: Shorten Works.
Flac, wabpack, and la dont work for somereason.

May I ask why you need to be able to rip to so many formats?
Is it possible that an application like REACT might help, so that you can rip to all formats at the same time?
I think the extension for Shorten is SHN so I may be wrong in that case, but I wouldn't be surprised if you are having trouble with WV, LA and FLAC due to the non-three letter extensions mentioned before. Look at the image file name and then open the cuesheet in Notepad and look at the file being referenced to see how they differ. My post
here may be of help.
Hi, thanks i just like to try alot of things if you get what i mean.
I got wavpack to work, honestly, all i did was change the file name, NOT THE CUE SHEET, but the file name from, name.ape.wav, to name.wv
And that worked. and Shorten also is working now
