Just tried to erase a DVDRW and I get this Error through Nero every time I try and erase it, usually around the 30 second mark. I've tried full erase and quick erase, both at different speeds, and it still fails. So I went out and got the latest ASPI dll for Nero, Updated my burner firmware, and tried again, still no luck.

So does anyone know anything about this error? I've never had problems with Nero before, and this drive hasn't had a problem burning or erasing up until now, so I cant tell if its hardware or software related. Also, if someone knows of a better DVDRW erasing utility, I would like to try it.

I recently had a spindle of DRD+R that about half of them had this error. If you looked closely you could see that they all had a surface blemish at the inner edge of the recording surface, right where the burner writes a test track to optimize the laser intensity.

Edit: Forgot to mention that this was with the same model burner as yours.

I just cracked open a 25 pack that came with my DVD burner, and the one with the problem is actually the first one I've used. It burnt fine but now gives this power shit problem. I admit they are probably "off brand", but I guess I will try burning some new ones.
