Full Version: CD Authoring software decompressing on the fly?

I need to be able to retain true archival quality collections of a rather expansive (DJ) CD collection. What I want to be able to do is easily recreate my CDs from this archive. I know that programs such as Nero and even Roxio's EZ-CD creator are capable of creating an audio CD from MP3 files without having to manually decode them first... is there CD authoring software that will do this with FLAC compressed files, or any other lossless format for that matter?

According to the FLAC site Burrrn and Nero (among others) support this.

Winamp 5.31 and Roxio Easy Media Creator 7-9 support FLAC encoding/decoding out-of-the-box and can burn Audio CDs.

If you want bit-perfect-as-possible FLACs, with ease of ripping and burning, my suggestion would be to mosey on over to the AutoFLAC thread and take a look at it:
