Good news: Crossfeed for Winamp 2.x has been updated to version 0.62. More good (though slightly dated) news: Crossfeed 0.62 is built into Peter Pawlowski's excellent Foobar 2000 player. Thanks to Peter for porting the code to his player!

Here is the change log:

CODE
Version 0.62, 12/22/2002
(+) Modified crossfeed parameters--should result in better sound quality
(*) Sealed up a minor memory leak
(*) Fixed random crashing when disabling the plugin (Winamp's fault)

You can download the plugin from here: http://www.naivesoftware.com/software.html. As always, let me know if you find any bugs. Happy holidays, everyone! smile.gif

It's for headphone wearers. Basically, it takes some of the left channel, delays it by a few hundred microseconds, and then feeds it into the right channel (and vice versa). It helps get rid of the strange stereo image you get when listening to music on headphones.

Some more information:

First plugin release (v0.53?)
Second release (v0.60)

I absolutely love this. I feel that the plug improved the output quality of my AKG K501s by a huge margin. My ears tell me that the music now has more impact and strangely the bass output got more controlled. I didn't notice much difference with Beyerdynamic DT-531s though. Might be a heaphone related thing or then it's just me imagining things.

Has anyone else experienced something ?
