I have many applications that can convert mp3 to wav such as soundforge etc. But I have heard great things about foobar as far as audio conversions. I would like to convert an mp3 to 8 khz (8,000 hz), 16-bit, mono .wav. I can't seem to find a way to do this under the new foobar or the new beta. Can someone please explain the step process of how I would do this?
Thanks a ton.
Go to Preferences -> Tools -> Converter -> Output bit depth -> Preferred bd: 16, dither:never.
Then add the file to convert to a playlist, select the file and rightclick on it -> Convert -> Convert to... -> Encoding preset: WAV, ReplayGain processing: none, DSP processing: yes (click on the "..." button and add to the Active DSP chain "Downmix to mono" and "Resampler (PPHS)"; select "Resampler" -> click Configure selected -> set 8000 and Ultra mode), When done: none -> Click OK.
