Stupid idea, really. Tubes produce lots of heat and you don't want another big source of heat inside your PC case.

What they should do is separate the audio card into two parts: pre-amp componentry goes on the PCI card and the tubes and output stage components go in an external box. It would cost more, of course, but that's a better solution to the heat problem.

Well, it's relatively not as bad as you might imagine.. that little tube is probably burning about 7-10 Watts,
compare that with the latest processors doing 70-80W, and some video cards doing 15-20W or more...
it's only like having an extra card or hard drive in your system..

Still.. more heat is more heat.. But as long as you have enough airflow, and this one won't need a lot more,
no problem..
