Full Version: Code loss when switching through layouts (columns UI/trackinfo_mod)

I am currently porting a columns ui layout with 6 trackinfo panels to a new layout with only one trackinfo mod panel.

When I switch between the layouts, in order to copy old trackinfo code, then go back to the new config, LOTS OF WORK repeatedly gets lost. This really sucks.

What will I have to do?

1. I'm having the new layout applied on fb2k.
2. Rightclick on the trackinfo_mod and edit. Add code. Apply changes. Good.
3. Visit fb2k preferences page. Press "save all".
4. Switch to another layout, copy code.
5. Return back to the new layout: Lots of code lost.

What the hell!!!"²²232??`?

Your experience, please! TIA.

Close and restart f2k before switching layouts. So the settings won't get lost.

the 100% solution is to run another instance of foobar.
copy everything in your current foobar directory to another new folder, then run foobar2000.exe in both directory.
now you can change your layout's code with the reference of the old layout and no need to do any switches.

note I assume you are not using multi user config, but one single config file in the foobar directory.

In order to not lose your settings when changing layout you must first save your changes. You can either do this by closing and restarting foobar (foobar saves settings on close), or what I do is add a custom button linked to the "Save Configuration" event and click on this button before switching layouts.

Note: Switching between tabs is much faster than switching between layouts.

I always restarted fb2k with a keyboard shortcut. Thanks people. The only disadvantage was: After finishing the migration to one trackinfo mod panel, fb2k's cpu consumption increased from <5% to around 70%. Arrgl...
