Using ReplayGain's "scan selection as multiple albums" I noticed albums were often too loud or quiet. Scanning the album individually resulted in different "replaygain_album_gain" values. Obviously this should not be.
I am using $directory(%_path%) as my grouping pattern, so it is not a problem of multiple albums with the same name.

Are they all in the same directory? If yes, you should try using "$directory(%_path%) | %album%" or something which can further separate the albums.
