after a rare reboot, foobar is giving me the 'choose default or columns ui' startup question and now i discover it does not recognize my components and cant find libpng or zlib. i search for them, and they are mysteriously gone.. blink.gif so i go and d/l the missing dlls and try putting them just about everywhere i can think of... foobar refuses to see them. huh.gif what do i do now??

You can get libpng and zib here (Click on Requirements). They are typically placed in your main foobar directory (not the components directory).

If that doesnt work then you probably either have a corrupt foobar configuration (move/delete foobar2000.cfg) or more serious problems with your computer. You can also try reinstalling a fresh copy of foobar in case something else got corrupted like the main executable.

Since this has happened to me also, what should be done when the above error message is received when opening foobar. It seems that if you delete foobar.cfg this config file is rewritten and almost all the previous configuration information is once again available (except for fcs?). Should you select default or columns UI or exit? Should you do anything with config.cfg? There is a workaround to eliminate the chore of reinstalling everything following a crash. Right?
