So yes, it's shameful that I've yet to own a copy of Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon." So, I plan on rectifying that, but I'm curious to know which version I should get (since there are so many). I just don't want to [edit]buy[/edit] a remastered version that's butchered the original. I know there's a re-issue, and the SACD version. Which to choose?

I have the SACD version and it has some clipping on Time for example.

Get the latest reissue that isn't the SACD. The filled in triangle one with cool artwork on the back. Omits the "The" in the album name on the side.

At least, that's the one i've got and it sounds fine. Maybe compressed too much, but it sounds fine to me.

Get the Capitol remaster, the very common one with the prisms on the back. You can find it in almost every store, and it's very cheap too (I've seen it for $9.99 at many places). It was remastered by Doug Sax and he's said that it's the definitive version of DSOTM (and this was after the MFSL version btw). ReplayGain is -3.57dB if you're interested in that.

Is that the one released in 1993?

Yes, the 20th anniversary edition. This is what mine looks like.

Yeah, that's the one I have.

LOL I still haven't got around to buying this album.

I recommend the 30th anniversary 180-gram vinyl edition. Sounds glorious, it's the best sounding record that I own.
