Editors note: CoverDownloader has been renamed Album Art downloader and the development can be followed in this thread.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I just spent some of my morning reading through the entire CoverDownloader thread.
Here's what I learned.
1) The only working script in the coverdownloader_4_0b.zip download are amazon and walmart.
2) Others have posted updated scripts but they're time consuming to find and/or easily make work.
3) For some scripts people have figured out how to show the size of each image as a small caption in the top left corner of the thumbnail image.
So you don't have to read the whole thread like I did, here's a list of the working scripts not included in the original download.
As of 1/12/2007 (post #286 in the original thread).

Also, here are some scripts written and hosted by AlexVallat. Simply download to your script folder.
Coveralia <--Large, high quality covers.
CoverIsland
Yes24
CD Universe
Cover-Paradies (requires hacks.boo)
Discogs_NoSizeOverlay
NOTE:
It appears iTunes support will never be available for albums released after October 3, 2006 as Apple has encoded the images to make them usable only from iTunes itself. For albums before this date the ability to download is hit or miss.
See here for more details.
TIP:
If you prefer one service over the other, rename the files correspondingly.
For example I like Discogs and then Amazon (I don't actually use the others).
Renaming the files like this...
"1) Discogs.boo"
"2) Amazon.boo"
...puts the CoverDownloader search results in the order I prefer.
Hopefully you find this post helpful. Cheers!
