No, it can't (although I'm not an Expanium owner). wink.gif QuickTime 6 Pro produces *.mp4 files only, so no MPEG-2 AAC capable hardware player is able to read them. Maybe you could extract an *.aac file from the *.mp4 file with mp4creator (available at RareWares), so that you won't have to use another encoder than QuickTime, but I'm not sure about this.

No even though mp4crator extracts aac track. these tracks are not played by expanium, I do owon one, because mp4creator produces mpeg-4 aac tracks from qt6 file, while expanium supports mpeg-2 aac audio. It is just a matter of two bits in the header of a given aac file. I hope someone (incluing myself) is able to modify mp4creator to produce mpeg-2 aac files.

Hmm, Ivan and Menno both seem to have the opinion that this should work, if I understood their recent postings correctly. So maybe they were wrong, or someone over there at MPEG4IP has to come back from his Christmas holidays... wink.gif

No the current version of mp4creator still has the bug to be fixed. I probably know how to modify the code, but I fail to compile mp4creator correctly so far. Visual Studio 6 still gives some errors. Do you know how to compile mp4creator with VS6?

Doesn't seem likely, does it?

Actually, it is possible to fork MP4Creator code to produce MPEG-2 ADTS files always,

It is file called adts.cpp in /lib/mp4av directory of MPEG4IP

function: MP4AV_AdtsMakeFrameFromMp4Sample()

there is a boolean value called 'isMpeg2' - and you can hardcode it to 'true'
